Myth: Liberty Quarry will impact the air in our Community with dust.
Fact: Granite monitored the air emissions from the Rosemary?s Mountain Quarry in Fallbrook for 12 months in 2009. The results show, that even at distances of only 600 ft from the quarry that levels of dust and crystalline silica were less than the state standards. Granite has offered to set up air monitoring stations in the City, including the closest public school, prior to construction.
SEND LETTER TO THE RIVERSIDE COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS Showing your support for the Liberty Quarry project.
Honorable Riverside County Board of Supervisors:
I am writing to let you know I support the Liberty Quarry project and would like to strongly encourage you to have a positive vote for Liberty Quarry as well.
While there is nothing fancy about a gravel quarry project, it is important to the overall quality of life of our county. Without construction aggregate produced by quarries, we cannot build the infrastructure we need and the roads we drive on.
Riverside County alone uses millions of tons of construction aggregate each year; over half is used for public works projects. As you well know Riverside County’s population is going to continue to grow, which means we are going to need even more aggregate to maintain this growth. By having a local source of aggregate the county will continue down the positive path of sustainability. The result is less traffic, less air pollution, and less fuel used for trucking construction materials over long distances and fewer costs for taxpayers. In addition to these benefits, the
quarry will create more local jobs, increase local spending and tax revenues which will benefit the entire region.
Please support bringing local jobs and a local source or needed aggregate to Southwest Riverside County, vote yes on Granite Construction’s permit to do business on Liberty Quarry.
